World cup Blues........
Time is moving very fast.....
World cup cricket starts and India is out without even qualifying into the super-8 stage.
Well, for me it didnt matter even if we had won the world cup. I lost interest in cricket when India lost to Australia in the final of World cup 2003. It was humiliating, wasn't it? I dont understand why our team is so inconsistent and unpredictable.
But for one thing this world cup is notable for me , for that matter whenever an important event that repeats in a fixed period of time happens, I reflect on what it will be like at the next happenning of that event...where will I be..What will the country be like and so on ..
the event may be Olympics, elections, FIFA world cup etc.
During the previous cricket world cup, I was busy preparing for my standard X examination and i dont remember if i imagined it or not, now I'm at IIT. In all probability I wouldn't have imagined b'cos I didnt even know IIT at that time. Well, to think of it where will I be for the next world cup. That'll be in 2011....Wherever it is.. I have seen enough worldcups, elections and olympics to understand that wherever Iam,whatever i become, it is not going make much of a difference to me as a person...
One thing is for sure, I would have met many more people but closed doors for even more people.
Yes!! As we are growing up, we are creating more and more walls around us as i feel it like...
Look at it this way, When u were a child u were freely playing with anyone, then u are put in a school. Here starts ur groupism.. U belong to a school, a section and this is how the nonsense starts. I still remember shouting in praise of our school and against the other school on our way back home in our school bus. Sure, it was fun then for us, but nuisance for someone else.
what i mean is we get more biased about many things as we are ageing. we are at our best as children-unbiased and open.
So, for the next world cup, I hope i'll be more understanding and accommodating to the people around me.
